Kent CCC Press Release24-Sep-2001Kent County Cricket Club today announced that both Alex Loudon and JamesTredwell had accepted playing contracts for the 2002 season. Kent has alsoagreed a development contract with talented bowler Robert Joseph, whichconfirms his allegiance to Kent and his desire to represent England at thehighest level in years to come.In addition to the departure of Alan Wells, who recently announced hisdesire to move to a management or coaching role, the Club will not berenewing contracts with Kristian Adams, Paul Lazenbury or Ben Phillips.All other members of this year’s playing staff are either under contract fornext season already or have been offered new contracts.The decision with regard to Kent’s overseas player for next season will bemade once the international calendar for 2002 is finalised. The Club would,however, like to place on record its appreciation for the role played byAndrew Symonds as its overseas player this year. Symonds joined the team inJune after injury forced Daryll Cullinan to relinquish his contract, and wasinstrumental in Kent’s recent victory over Warwickshire which secured theNorwich Union League for the County for the fifth time.
