As Toney enters the final 12 months of his existing contract with Brentford, it has been reported earlier that the Bees are looking to sell the striker this summer, so as to not lose him for free. And it has now been reported by The Mirror that United could be interested in signing the 28-year-old with new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe looking to revamp the squad.

Arsenal and Chelsea were the clubs most heavily linked with signing Toney in January, however, the two sides have cooled their interest with the Gunners said to be monitoring RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres. Chelsea are said to be looking at alternative options too, even though Toney is likely to be available for between £40 million ($49.8m) and £50 million ($62.2m) at the end of the season.

The Red Devils already have a similar profile up front in the form of Rasmus Hojlund, but the club is also looking for an experienced striker to take the burden away from the young Dane. Toney could fit the bill.
WHAT NEXT FOR TONEY?
Toney and Brentford have declared multiple times that the decision regarding the 28-year-old's future will only be made after the end of the season. He will next be in action when the Bees take on Luton Town on April 20, if he recovers from his injury current issue.
